The Secret Sun by Tanya Johnston

I don’t have much to offer right now other than three songs, loosely related.

I love Ffffound, and I love that despite my inescapable cynicism, thousands of people are somehow able to trudge through and make excellent stuff.

Here’s to a rainy weekend.

Yulquen - Autechre
Departures - Closer Musik
Absence - Clark

Joker

These songs inspired me to fire up Live Writer. Commodore 64 + DubStep = Joker

Joker

Do It - Joker
Radiates (Joker Remix) - Primary 1 & Riton
Purple City - Joker and Ginz

tron

The above screen shot is from the Tron Legacy trailer. If you haven’t watched it yet I highly suggest you do, preferably in HD.

Now after you watch the real thing, please return and watch this:

I got giddy watching the trailer. I got just as giddy watching this mashup. Brilliant.

Also, Daft Punk is doing the music for Tron2 and may be touring behind it. New Tron + Gorgeous Animation + Jeff Bridges + Daft Punk = 8-year-old style glee.

Your Honorable Honorness

I testified in court this early and dreary morning.* Amazingly the footage has already been made public:

I couldn’t believe the footage was public record already. Nice job Baltimore.

Actually Ghostbusters the video game is coming out soon. And Ghostbusters 3 is slated for filming with everyone on board, even Murray.

imageYou know it.

Finally, here’s a song from CFCF that I’ve been playing every day at least once.
15 times.

Actually Jake that sounds weird, how about we settle on 3 and call it square?

3 times.

*I really did testify in my friend Sarah’s accident trial, for an accident that occurred in 2006. Let’s just say that a court trial is now my top reason to not get into an auto accident.

Crystal Mines - CFCF

Sun and Circles

Saturday, May 16, 2009

Talk about perseverance,

Experienced solar photographer Thierry Lagault had noticed planes crossing in front of the Sun from his home in suburban Paris. He then got the idea for the above photograph, but had to wait through many near misses. About two weeks ago, he got his wish: a jet crossed directly in front of the Sun when his solar imaging equipment was set up. – Nasa Astronomy Picture of the Day

This shot reminded me of Studio’s cover art, all circles with the circle forming tangents juuust as it touches the square border.  image

Two Weeks

I’ve been meaning to get a proper system for uploading and sharing music on the blog in place since it’s inception, but you know, life. So now phase one is complete which looks AMAZING.

As in, amazing-ly like it always has. Except now instead of hand-uploading each byte and bit of music, I let Expression Engine handle the heavy lifting of figuring out the MP3’s title and artist. Also this fits into my larger plan of having a play list over to the right of all music I post. In due time.

Well, to commemorate, how about we bask in the two hottest BLOG-P-3’s out now? From Grizzly Bear’s upcoming album the single “Two Weeks” and Fred Falke’s smooth as silk remix.

The Field - The More That I Do

Friday, April 24, 2009

A track from The Field's new album was released. It definitely has the feel of his previous work but with less of the shiver inducing crescendo, at least in this piece. Still, I'm excited for the album to drop.

How To

In light of the last post here are 3 things that I could (conceivably) do but probably won’t.
